Hi Holly! Looks like an old hand-gathered slag to me.(Akro or Christensen) That "nine and tail" pattern couldn't be more dramatic and simple at the same time! Makes me wonder if perhaps it's foreign but I doubt that. Probably the flows of glass just made it that way, intentionally or not! That 9 is definitely intentional though! :) As far as Mica, it looks to me more like this marble was out in the sun or something and became somewhat "crackled" with interior fractures. That's what I think, but if you want some more opinions post your pics on Land of Marbles in the forums. I'm sure a few more people will confirm or deny my report! The pics are on the darkish side, and I know it's hard, but if you have some where the interior is more visible that would help. Peace to you, Stacey :)
Looks to me like some little perisher painted it and the stuff wore off...very cool though-love the ambery colour..
Cool find! I only learned a little while back that there's a whole world of marble collecting. I'm not involved in it, but can see how it would be addictive. They can be so beautiful - this one's really interesting! Anonymous's info is interesting, too.
