Tahitian Vanilla Soap of the Month (Feb)

Trying a new shameless selling ploy. Every month on soap will be 50 cents off. Feb is Tahitian Vanilla..

Tahitian Vanilla is one of my favorites to use in soap. It has a very distinct spicy/sweet almost woody undertone and then it's vanilla all the way, baby.

No cookie smell here, this is the deep, heady stuff. You can see the pic riiiight under this post. This soap is one I use personally. I like it because the scent lingers. *smells arm*

I just love this.

They really nailed that newborn dazed look Guineas always seem to have.

And it's Sunny to boot.

I almost slept almost lying down last night. This is exciting. So is not having the boy ask me if I'm sure I don't want to go to the ER when I have a coughing fit. The sun is out, it's cold, but it's shiny.

I'm ignoring the pile I need to tackle to get up and running again, but at least it's a pile and not what,a mountain, molehill? I'm not totally coffeed yet. My friend's daughter is staying with us (she's eight) and we always have a good time when she's here.

It's funny to listen to them play (through a closed door, they are very serious you know) Bionicle there's an ever changing rule system involving much negotiation. One of the ships has a defense shield called "Reverse Psychology" and this can go one for several hours.

I hope they will always be the good friends they are now.

There are some things going on that make me want to try very hard to be kind in all things. You would think, or I would like to, that comes naturally, but there's a whole line of defensiveness that needs to be set aside.

I don't know why we react to the one nasty person when there are nine others with a smile and a handshake standing there too. Akin to knocking friendly faces over to go punch the one asshole in the face. Doesn't make a lot of sense, does it?

Trying not to sound cheesy and it's hard to really explain without divulging more then I am comfortable with, but wow, hold on, you know? Hold on tight, count your blessings and know that a new day is a gift not everyone receives. I want very much to spend that day in a way that honors that.

I don't expect to succeed all the time, much less easily, I'm not used to looking outward. But I have a chance to try, right?

Nasty Jumps the Shark

Here's a brand new blog Trail Of Hearts I'm promoting as part of my Sunshine of the Mind philosophy. I think the Etsy oriented blogs who rely on bitch, fuck and it's many forms to form a sentence have jumped the proverbial hand felted shark.

I'm tired of reading about who sucks, or why I suck or who sucked for not agreeing I sucked when someone who sucked said it. And so on. I'm bored to tears reading about how fucking fuck fuckery bitch fuck Etsy whatever is just saying what no one else will.

And I'm grateful that's true. Because of more people relied on nastiness to gain an audience then it truly would be a tedious, downtrodden, backbiting place to be.

A little snark is fun, wit is to be celebrated. Berating, I'm thinking not so much. It takes no talent, it holds no interest. It brings no light into the mind. I know Etsy is far, far from perfect, I know people can suck it like a Dyson on overdrive.

I'm simply not interested in celebrating those who revel in it and vomit forth bile and consider it entertainment. You aren't stupid, I'm not stupid, just seems like there's an awful lot of good fight to fight out there right now. Denigrating is not fighting the good fight. It's just a paragraph of cheap shots.

Changes nothing. People get so mired in morbid self satisfaction it becomes paralytic. Self fulfilling. Speak up when there's a problem, sure. Personalise it, not so much.

The people I care for and respect want to solve problems. Not bash in the figurative heads of those who have them.

Hey, so...

shops are reopened. Anything ordered between now and Sunday will ship Monday. I'm also limiting my ship days to twice a week. I'm thinking Tuesday and Friday.

Sample folks (not you know sample people, sample orders) they will go out very soon, so sorry about the delay.

Thank you all for the kind thoughts and wishes. Without going into too much detail I'll be making some big changes in regard to lifestyle.

No, like walking, not coming out or anything, weirdo. Not trying to push through illness like I'm still thirty, you know, common sense crap that comes with the crushing realisation that you are OLDER now.

Perhaps the one of the most important changes is going to have to be voluntary stress. As in not having any. As in avoiding stupid shit online. As amusing as I find some of the nastiness, I think it does wear a person down whether they realise it or not.

I really don't need to read everything out there. It's not edifying, to say the least. I have enough real life crap to slug through, you know? At some point, it's just sort of sad and awful. Let people be sad and awful if that's what makes them happy.

SO, shall we roll merrily along?

Things I drew when I was sick.

I haven't drawn anything since I was maybe 14. I thought these were kinda funny. Oddly cheerful given the circumstances. My sun got a little out of control there, huh? My fav is Who Knew? the one with the perplexed looking robot.

If you click on them you can see them in their full size glory. Should you want to. I don't find them interesting so much from a 'quality art' standpoint (I'm not deluded) but from a "That came out of MY head?" standpoint.

And I'm still sick. It's just that Things I Drew While I am Still Sick didn't really roll off the tongue.

Due to illness GMA and GH will be closed until the end of Jan. I am hoping to reopen before then, but we'll see, huh?

See, it's soap! Not made out of socks!

Tranquil Sleep

Given the goings on over at Etsy I should just shove a bar of each up both nostrils.

Cut a Bitch

I want to do key chains and magnets eventually once I come up with the filthy lucre. I used the orange square for obvious reasons. It IS obvious, right?
